Bob Lutz Returns To Head New GM’s "Creative" Development

Today marks the beginning of the "new" GM, freshly removed from bankruptcy and ready to prove to the world that it can be profitable again. In an often voiced but rarely followed mantra, CEO Fritz Henderson said it wasn't going to be "business as usual" anymore. He seemed so sincere, yet moments later he announced that Bob Lutz, a 78-year old GM veteran would return to head up "creative" development, a role in

which he would oversee product design, marketing and communications. There's no doubt that Lutz, even at 78, is one of the best minds in the industry, but given GM's deep internal talent pool we find it hard to believe this is the best Fritz could do. Good luck "new" GM, you're going to need it.
