Cosworth tunes Subaru Impreza STi

Filed under: Hatchbacks , Sports/GTs , Tuners , Subaru , News It’s been well over a decade since any model of car wore the Cosworth badge, but such is the resonance of the engine builder’s brand that the Autoblog office’s collective neck hair stood on end when we discovered that the British tuner had been tinkering with Subaru’s Impreza STI. Described as a one-off project, the car is the result of special collaboration between Cosworth and the Japanese manufacturer, and is said to significantly enhance the performance, handling and styling of the already fairly spritely Impreza. In case we needed a

better excuse to inch to the edge of our seats, an official statement also suggested that the new car will raise the bar for all-wheel-drive, high-performance motoring. Normally, we’d dismiss that as PR wishful thinking, but misty memories of whale-tail Escort spoilers and the Sierra RS500’s competition spec engine had us distracted. Full details of the Impreza Cosworth will be revealed before it goes on sale next month. At the moment there’s just this teaser pic of the badges to day dream about.   Permalink | Email this | Comments
