The chunky looks of the 4×4 no longer belong to thirsty vehicles that are more at home down tracks and fields than on suburban streets. As a result of this, Mitsubishi, one of the most archetypal of 4×4 manufacturers is slowly changing its vehicle offering. According to the company, it is moving away from being: “an SUV-focused nameplate with a limited offer of on-road vehicles to a manufacturer

of non-mainstream environmentally friendly passenger cars & crossovers.” The crossover that Mitsubishi is hoping to move it towards this low-CO2 goal is the ASX. It still boasts the chunky looks of the SUVs that the company has become famous for, such as the Outlander, Shogun and the L200 pick up, but it is slightly toned down with it.
