Pontiac’s G8 to Live on, Camaro Z28 Canned

GM vice-chair, Robert Lutz, has brought us both good news and bad news. The good outweighs the bad: Pontiac’s awesome G8 sedan will indeed live on as a Chevrolet.  The G8, itself a rebadged Holden from down under, will apparently become the Chevrolet Caprice.  The choice of Caprice as the new name isn’t as appealing as Impala or Chevelle , but we’re just glad the

best American four-door in years will live on. The bad news is that the planned new high-end Camaro, designated by the press as the “Z28″ or “ZL1,” has been dropped.  The idea of a supercharged 500+ hp sport coupe just isn’t politically correct in an Al Gore world. ShareThis
