Spy Shots: Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster spotted in the U.S.

Mercedes-Benz has yet to unveil the new SLS AMG Gullwing supercar but it seems like the Stuttgart automaker is already planning a convertible version of the most extreme Benz ever built. Spies caught a prototype of the convertible SLS AMG going under hot-weather testing in the United States. The canvas hard-top version of the SLS AMG will go on sale about 12 months after the coupe goes on sale early next year. We’re not sure how the doors will open (Gullwing style or regular) but power is expected

to come from the same 6.3L V8 AMG engine making 563-hp. Mated to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission, the SLS AMG convertible should go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph.
